PSAplast has developed a solution in response to a specific challenge presented by one of its clients. The result was the creation of a perforated crate with the possibility of applying barcode labels on both of its longer sides — something that was previously not feasible due to the ventilated design of the side walls.
The client was seeking for an efficient way to quickly identify crates during the logistics process, even when they were stacked or positioned variably along the distribution lines. However, the open structure of the longer walls prevented the placement of labels in the desired size, compromising barcode readability.
A solution that enhances traceability
In collaboration with the client, PSAplast designed a new label holder that allows for secure, stable and highly visible placement of labels on the crate’s long sides. This solution not only improves barcode scanning efficiency but also boosts operational performance and traceability throughout the entire supply chain.

This made-to-order version with label holders on both long sides (Ref. 970U_) offers the following advantages:
• Standard Euro dimensions (600×400 mm): compatible with Euro pallets, ensuring easy stacking, transport and storage.
• Height of 200 mm: ideal for medium-volume products, balancing capacity and handling convenience.
• Vented side walls: allow airflow and partial visibility of contents — ideal for sectors such as agri-food, logistics and distribution.
• Closed or perforated base: depending on application — the closed base offers greater strength and protection for heavier or more delicate goods, while the perforated version is lighter, allowing better drainage and airflow.
• Optional sequentially numbered barcode labels or RFID tags: for enhanced logistics and inventory management.
• Compatible with lid Ref. 3006: provides extra protection for contents and increases versatility in various logistical environments.
