Custom screen printing for plastic packaging at PSAplast

Screen-printed packaging

At PSAplast, we do more than manufacture plastic packaging. We also offer screen-printing services for selected products, allowing our customers to customise their packaging to reflect their brand identity and the specific requirements of their products.
With screen printing, a wide range of elements can be applied directly to the packaging, including logos, technical information, internal references, capacity scales, instructions for use, symbols and other graphic elements.
This process is particularly suitable for plastic buckets and crates, providing a durable, professional and visually integrated finish.

Customising plastic buckets and crates

Packaging is often more than just a container. It can also play an important role in product identification, communication and brand recognition.

At PSAplast, screen printing can be used to customise a range of plastic packaging products, including buckets and crates. The printing possibilities depend on the specific product and the design requirements.

We currently offer:

• Up to 4 colours on plastic buckets;
• Up to 2 colours on plastic crates.

Each project is assessed individually, taking into account the packaging selected, the available printing area, the number of colours and the characteristics of the artwork.

How does the PSAplast customisation process work?

The process begins when the customer sends us their artwork, preferably in a high-quality format such as PDF or AI.

Once the file has been received, we assess its suitability for the selected packaging and the screen-printing process. At this stage, we define aspects such as the available print area, the number of colours and the positioning of the different graphic elements.

The necessary printing screens are then prepared, with each colour applied separately.
Throughout the production process, visual quality checks are carried out to ensure that the print quality and finish meet the required standards.

Example of multi-colour screen printing:

In summary, the process includes: receiving and reviewing the artwork; checking compatibility with the packaging; defining the colours and printing area; preparing the screen-printing screens; printing the different colours; drying between colours; visual quality control; packing and dispatch.

What can be printed directly onto plastic packaging?

Screen printing allows different types of information and graphics to be applied directly to the packaging, including:

• Logos and brand names;
• Custom graphic elements;
• Product references and internal codes;
• Technical information;
• Capacity charts;
• Graduated measurement scales;
• Instructions for use;
• Recycling symbols;
• Safety pictograms;
• Other product-specific information.

Printing directly onto the packaging creates a visually integrated solution and can eliminate the need for additional elements, such as adhesive labels, to identify the product.

Screen printing or self-adhesive labels?

This can help avoid issues associated with labels peeling away as a result of moisture, low temperatures or frequent handling. It also provides a more integrated and professional appearance.

However, the choice between screen printing and self-adhesive labels should always be considered on a project-by-project basis. Factors such as the type of packaging, number of colours, amount of information and order volume can all influence which solution is most suitable.

The main advantages of screen printing

Screen printing offers several advantages when it comes to customising plastic packaging:

• Excellent ink adhesion to plastic surfaces.
• Good resistance to handling, moisture and normal wear during use.
• Strong, vibrant colours.
• High-quality printing on both flat and cylindrical surfaces.

As with any surface printing process, the durability of the print may be affected by intensive abrasion, frequent washing or prolonged contact with certain chemicals, solvents or oily substances.

Custom printing for reusable packaging

Screen printing can be particularly beneficial for packaging designed to be reused over a long period of time.

For reusable plastic crates, for example, printing allows the packaging to be permanently identified with a customer’s logo, name, codes or other relevant information. This can be especially useful for packaging used in logistics, storage, transport or internal product handling.

By printing directly onto the packaging, the identification becomes an integral part of the product itself.

• Pharmaceutical products;
• Logistics and storage.

Manufacturing and customisation at PSAplast

By combining plastic packaging manufacturing with screen-printing services, PSAplast can support each project from the selection of the most suitable packaging through to the application of the final artwork.

Because we manufacture the packaging ourselves, the customisation process can be assessed with the specific characteristics of each product in mind. This allows us to evaluate the most suitable solution according to the packaging, artwork and printing requirements.

At PSAplast, we manufacture plastic packaging and customise selected products through screen printing, providing a practical and professional solution for companies looking to identify and differentiate their products.
